It’s been a month since I’ve had a chance to write on here. A FUCKING MONTH!! The passing of time is moving too quickly, and I see it as a personal insult to my daily list of tasks. Time can go to hell.
Yesterday, I found a newspaper article on my desk that Brad had left for me with a front page article circled for me to read. The headline read: “Abortion Foe Goes Undercover”. To sum it up, a college student named Lila Rose has been posing as a 13 year old, going into Planned Parenthood with a hidden camera, telling the nurses that she’s pregnant from a 31 year old and needs an abortion. By law, if a minor goes into any health facility and states that they’ve had sex with an adult, the nurse has to report it as statutory rape, and parents must be notified if someone this young wants an abortion (the age on this varies from state to state). But Miss Rose (who is a college student and NOT pregnant) has been trapping the nurses into telling her to not mention the fake boyfriends age, or telling her to go across state lines where laws are more lenient. Miss Rose is trying to “expose” Planned Parenthood for not notifying police and parents, therefore allowing statutory rape to go unpunished.
BULLSHIT!!!! This has been played out in the media as if it’s one lady’s quest to protect young girls from “statutory rape”… a crusader trying to save young girls. This is not true. Rose is just another stereotypical anti-choice fanatic trying to find a back-end way to shut down abortion clinics. She knows that the “abortion is wrong because god says so/all life is sacred/bla bla bla” is tired, played-out, and noone wants to hear it anymore… so she’s found a new stragey. And, sadly, it worked. Because of this gender traitor, on Wednesday Tennessee said it would seek to end it’s $721,000 contract with Planned Parenthood, and last month the Orange County Board of Supervisors voted to suspend a grant worth nearly $300,000 to Planned Parenthood. Rose is seen as a hero for the rights and protection of young girls…. but the damage she’s ACTUALLY throwing onto young girls in crisis could be catastrophic.
Let’s throw personal beliefs out the window for a second and look at common sense facts. Planned Parenthood does not exist because anyone thinks that abortions are a super fun good time. They don’t throw little parties whenever a girl comes in to terminate a pregnancy. Working there is NOT a fun job… but it’s a NECESSARY job in our society. These nurses have to deal with young girls facing one of the toughest decisions in their life. They aren’t cops. They aren’t there to judge. They are there to help girls who come to them. And yes, young girls get involved with older men. It’s awful, and these older men are vile creatures… but that doesn’t change the fact that these young girls need HELP and should NOT be forced to have a baby. They go to places like Planned Parenthood because they don’t feel like they can go to their parents, or to any other adult in their life… and they rely on places like this to help them through this so they can get on with their life. Planned Parenthood isn’t the Rape Crisis Center- if it was, it would be called the Rape Crisis Center instead of Planned Parenthood. And yes, they’re supposed to report it when very young girls come in seeking help- but when you’ve got a 14 year old girl in sitting in front of you, pregnant, scared, and with nowhere else to turn; and you know that if you threaten to call the cops or her parents, she’ll just leave and either take extreme and potentially deadly measures to get rid of this baby or have the baby at too young of an age… well, I probably wouldn’t call the cops or her parents either. They’re there to help the girls that come to them- NOT do the job of the police or the parents.
And let’s be realistic as to just how many 13 and 14 year old girls with adult boyfriends come into Planned Parenthood seeking an abortion. Out of ALL the services that P.P. provides, just how prominant is this particular situation really? 3%? 5%? Abortion services aren’t the only thing P.P. does. They aren’t rolling in buckets of dead babies. They are where I went in college for all my OBGYN check ups, to get affordable birth control, cheap pregnancy testing when I thought I was pregnant with Sully, to get my ex-husband tested for STD’s when we were dating before I let him screw me, to get my friends the ‘morning after pill’, etc. I went there because it was affordable, staffed by women, and they were understanding of any situation. To sever funding and shut down these clinics because one girl doesn’t like abortions and is willing to underhandedly trick the nurses into thinking they’re helping a child stuck in a HORRIFYING situation is just sick and wrong.
Not everyone agrees with abortion. That’s fine. BUT, in my book, if you’re a woman and you callously go out of your way to take away the choices of other women, making their life more difficult or forcing them into a situation that they aren’t prepared for or that could ruin their life- you’re a gender traitor, and an enemy of mine. Go ahead and hate abortion… I think you’d be hard pressed to find someone out there who loves them, or thinks that they’re a good time. But DO NOT make shitting on the rights of other women your life’s work. We live in crappy times filled with horrible situations and decisions- don’t make it that much harder by forcing other women to have babies that they can’t possibly take care of, OR forcing them to go through with the pregnancy and put the baby up for adoption (which can be far more traumatic than an abortion could ever be)… or the worst- potentially harming themselves by taking dangerous measures to get rid of the unwanted fetus because their safe and legal clinics have been taken away from them. Shutting down Planned Parenthoods’ and getting their funding cut because of your own personal beliefs IS betraying other women’s right to safety and control over their own life.
Lila Rose, you ARE a gender traitor. You make me embarrassed to have a vagina, and I hope you get genital warts that spread all over your body. And if I ever see you, expect to be vomited on. You’re THAT fucking vile. It takes ALOT to make me to hate another woman- but she won that prize.

On a lighter note, I had a bookcase fall on me a couple days ago and I was told because of what I experienced afterwards I probably had a mild concussion (which is all my brain needs after all the other head injuries I’ve had); we went to a pet show last weekend and I now feel it’s mandatory that I own a Great Dane to go with my herd of cats; Sully was John Adams in a school play, and he wore the hat I made him for it upside down and backwards through the whole thing (which was a fucking riot); and I’m going to have new drawings for sale by this weekend on my webstore. I believe that’s all I have to share with you this evening.

I’m having a helluvatime waking up this morning, so I’m not sure how eloquent I can be right now. But I’m gonna give it the old “college try”.
I watched the debates last night with Sully, and if my 10 year old can see through McCain’s bullshit (without any coaching from me), I don’t understand why the rest of the country can’t. It’s interesting to hear a child’s commentary with something like this. He has enough basic understanding of the issues to get a general idea of what the candidates were arguing about (though I had to explain a few of the details and politician-speak phrases to him). But Sully’s main observation was that McCain not only didn’t answer any of the questions with direct on concise responses; but even when Obama thwarted accusations thrown at him, McCain still clung to the original accusations as if no explanation from Obama was ever given. I can’t even count how many times McCain would accuse Obama of something or mangle Obama’s stance on an issue, then Obama would explain (in simple enough terms for my kid to understand) what the facts actually were, THEN McCain would jump right back in with the original mangle…. and then Sully would say “Wasn’t McCain listening? Obama JUST EXPLAINED THAT? GEEEEEZZZZ!!!! What’s wrong with that guy?”.
Out of the mouths of babes.
But apparently a good percentage of our country’s population doesn’t have the intelligence of a 10 year old, because the polls and pundits are saying that anywhere between 31%- 46% of our country think McCain did a good job last night.
But something that Sully and I also noticed was that NOTHING frazzled Obama. McCain had to resort to snide remarks and witty little comments (or at least HE thought they were witty… there was much eye-rolling from me and Sully in response to McCain’s “wit”), having to always have the “last word”- no matter how petty and vindictive it made him look. And it did make him come across as petty, and desperate, and pathetic. Where Obama calmly and precisely outlined his plans for helping the economy and the middle class, and our broken health care system. Obama came across as graceful and level-headed under pressure. Exactly what we need.
I’m also REALLY tired of people having a problem with allowing the government to provide health care for people who can’t afford it. I’m sick of people saying that “socialized health care” is a scary thing. Socialism DOES NOT equal communism. Come on you ignorant fuckers- wake up!!! We already have socialized systems in practice in our country!!! Our police force is socialized! Our military is socialized!! Would you like to do away with our police and make that a private practice? Then each neighborhood will pay a private group of roaming thugs with little training or legal guidelines to protect your area? How well would that go over? You may have the argument that our police force is already like that- but at least when you call in for emergency help, they have to come, AND there are strict guidelines on how they handle emergency situations. And at least that assistance is provided to the entire country instead of just “those who can afford it”. “Socialized” health care would mean that no one would have to go without medical care. Children, the elderly, the poor, etc, would all be able to get medical treatment, which would mean less expenses for the hospitals, insurance companies, and the tax payers for having to pay for medical treatment of people who have received aid without insurance. COMMON SENSE, DIPSHITS!!!
And did anyone else catch McCain’s response to the Roe v Wade topic? When he was asked whether or not he would ever nominate someone to the Supreme Court that disagreed with his strict pro-life stance (which the next president WILL be electing new members of the Supreme Court), McCain fumbled around and gave a bunch of political babble about only electing qualified people…. THEN he slipped in the end really quickly: “I don’t believe that someone who has supported Roe v Wade would have those qualifications”.
Did you catch that? It was pretty tricky (though Sully picked up on it). McCain DOES NOT believe that anyone who supported Roe v Wade is qualified to be on the Supreme Court. Which means that, Yes, he will keep people out of the Supreme Court who would fight him in overturning Roe v. Wade… because he DOES want it overturned. He wants the laws to be put into the hands of the state. INSANE!! So if you live in a state where abortion is illegal, and you’re a minor who was raped by your father and get pregnant, you have to travel to the closest state where abortion is legal in order to get one. Or lets say that I get pregnant despite all my birth control efforts, and as a grown woman who already has a child and knowing full well that my family doesn’t have the resources or ability to care for another child, I have to actually take time off work and a family road trip to a different part of the country to get an abortion if it’s illegal in my state? Are you fucking kidding me?? I hate you, John McCain. You’re a rich old white male who will NEVER EVER have to make that decision, so keep your fucking ignorant one-sided opinions out of my uterus. I want to bitch-slap that dick until his eyes bleed.
But Obama made my heart warm when he strongly stated that he is in full support of Roe v Wade, and that these hard decisions should be left in the hands of the people who are affected by it. I love you, Barack Obama. There’s nothing lovlier than a male feminist.
Overall, I have no idea how some news reports can state that McCain won the debate (well, only 1 did… but even Fox News is saying that their advisors stated that Obama won). And I have no idea how after these debates people are still clinging to Relic McCain.
But now that the debates are over, the time to vote is coming up fast. For all of you who are registered, and would like affordable health care, and would like clean energy, and would like to decide what happens to your own body, and would like to be able to go to college without INSANE student loans, and would like to see an end to this stupid war so that money can go back into things like public schools and programs to help people in need, etc etc etc…. vote Obama. PLEASE keep McCain from getting his old and gnarled clutches on our country.
And if you didn’t register to vote, you’re a douchebag.

I am in complete and utter awe of how ignorance in our country has swelled to epidemic proportions.
When McCain announced that Palin was his VP running-mate, I scoffed and even giggled at how insanely ridiculous the choice was (some of the reasons stated in my previous posting). But after doing a few simple searches on this blog site to find what other folks think about this duo- I’m terrified.
After 8 years of the Bush Embarrassment, no end in sight to our involvement in the Middle East, being the most hated country on the globe, our economy in the shitter (and getting worse by the second), little attention being given to the fact that we DESPERATELY need to find alternative energy sources (which of course isn’t going to happen as long as Oil Men are in office), the “No Child Left Behind” nightmare, gay marital unions are STILL not acknowledged or respected or even allowed in the majority of the States…. I could go on and on and on. I thought that we had all had enough of the moronic and “Politicians First/ Citizens Second” kind of leadershit. But I guess not. I guess the majority of American’s ENJOY the nightmare we’re living in right now.
What sickens me the most is that the conservative Republican mindset is selfish and oppressive to anyone who is not a war-loving “Old Testament Christian”. When I say “Old Testament Christian”, I mean all the Christians out there who know NOTHING about the teachings of Christ, but who follow all the rules of the Old Testament. But if they understood ANYTHING about the Bible, they’d know that Jesus came about so that the practices of the Old Testament no longer applied. Old Testament = health code (which means it no longer applies because of the advances of modern technology); New Testament = Behavioral code. Jesus was a hippy. Jesus hated the oppression of the church and government (he even trashed a church because he was so sickened at what it had become). Jesus was a supporter of the outcasts of society, and welcomed them with open arms. Jesus WOULD NOT have supported Bush, or McCain, or Palin. These Conservative Republicans are about as backwards and ignorant as they come.
But they’re selfish open arms to the oppression of anyone who isn’t like them astounds me in the truest sense. The McCain/Palin anti-abortion and anti-gay rights is fully invasive to the private lives of others. These are things that should NEVER EVER be up for political debate. EVER. PERIOD. Who the hell are these shitbags to tell total strangers that by law they don’t have rights to their own bodies or to love whoever they want??? The anti-abortion stance came from one line in the bible that has been TOTALLY taken out of context:
“Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5
That’s what this whole stupid fucking debate is all about. So these retarded anit-abortion shitsuckers are going to try to tell it’s nation’s women that abortion is wrong because of one line in THEIR religion’s scripture? Freedom of religion means that we all have the right to call bullshit on other people’s beliefs and we can believe whatever we want. I don’t wanna hear the “One Nation Under God” argument…. that’s just a babble-argument. The laws of a religiously free country should not be made with one religion’s interest in mind. That is oppressive to everyone else in the country who doesn’t follow that doctrine (and there are more Non-Christians out there than there are Christians). But aside from religion… IT’S NONE OF ANYONE’S BUSINESS!!!!! NOONE has the right to step into my personal life and tell me that I’m not allowed to make a life changing choice. End of story. And what really amazes me is that they want to force all these women to have these unwanted pregnancies… but then where are they once the babies are born? Are they willing to adopt all these unwanted babies, or financially support these mothers who were forced into motherhood against their will? Of course not…. they just want to make sure the babies are born because of THEIR religious beliefs. FUCK THEM FUCK THEM FUCK THEM!!!!!!!! I loathe these people to my core. If you don’t like abortion… don’t have one. Leave the rest of us alone…. BECAUSE IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!! Go eat a dick.
And the gay marriage debate…. this should never ever ever be a debate. BECAUSE IT’S NOONE’S BUSINESS!!!!! The fact that the private sex life of 2 consenting adults is actually up for legal debate astounds me to no end. Who the hell is ANYONE to tell someone who they can or cannot love? Saying that “they can be together, but not be legally married” isn’t enough. It’s the equivalent of saying “Your love isn’t worthy of marriage”, and fully dismisses their bond. It’s insulting, and invasive, and oppressive…. again because of one conservative belief structure that doesn’t include the nation as a whole. SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, PEOPLE!!!! WAKE THE FUCK UP!!!!! If you’re not gay, that’s fine…. but leave everyone who is alone- BECAUSE IT’S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!!! Again, go eat a dick.
I could go through all the issues, and rant about the conservative standing on each one… but this would turn into a book. But my original point is that I thought that we were moving past all of this. I thought we were growing as a nation. But by doing simple searches in blogs to see other people’s opinions… I’ve found that ignorance is still very much alive and well, and happily thriving in our nation. It makes me ill.
This next election is particularly dire, because a few of the Supreme Court Justices will be retiring. The president is the one who brings in the new ones. If McCain/Palin get elected, and they have the right to bring in Justices with conservative/Old Testament Christian ideals…. Roe vs Wade could be back on the table to be overturned. Seriously. It’s that scary. None of us thought that Bush could have a second reign of terror…. but it happened. Let’s not let this blunder happen again. We’ve all had enough of this douchebaggery, and it will just get worse. And we no longer have the rest of the globe to help us- because thanks to Bush, they all hate us.
And if you do believe in a God…. pray that lightning will strike Palin, and that McCain will FINALLY have that long-overdue massive heart attack. I’ve got noone to pray to, so I’m counting on you.
