What happens in Vegas never really stays in Vegas….

17 Feb

… or at least now that things like Flickr exist.

Here are a few pics from the recent “Pool Tradeshow” that I was at with the girls from All-Mighty Clothing.  I never have a camera on me (or the battery is always dead when I do- which was the case during this trade show), but luckily the glorious Jen Daking from All-Mighty always has her camera ready and waiting (Jen also does makeup professionally, so if you need for some people to look pretty, check her out HERE).  All these pictures were taken by her.

Here’s our little booth at the show….

a little more of the booth, Erica working and me making a stupid face….

This is Stella… she belongs to the owners of Vicious Cycle in Chicago.  I’m a devout cat-person, but I fell in love with this puppy (and I love the folks at Vicious Cycle tons and tons as well- go there and give them mountains of money because they’re great)…

All-Mighty decorations are the cutest on the planet…..

I don’t really drink much, or gamble, or have sex with hookers…. so when I’m in Vegas my vice is the bakery’s that can be found in the casinos.  I bought happy pink cupcake things that looked like cars and big balls of chocolate hazelnut madness.  I think this is much more fun than a hooker could be, and alot cheaper than gambling…

Erica thought so too…..

this picture was mandatory (and Jen is my favorite for taking it)….

That’s all I’m going to post on here… but you can see more on my flickr page (just scroll down and there’s a link to it) or on Fantastic Jen’s flickr page.

Wonderful Danielle was sick the whole show, and I have now come down with what she had… so I have no more energy to write, and I’ve got to muster the strength to paint all day for my upcoming show in France while taking care of my rowdy son and cleaning the house because we’re going to be having guests staying with us for a few days.  UUUUGGGHHHHH…

It never ends.

the red shirt you are wearing is one of the ones i am going to order as soon as they are in your store.

i am not a huge dog person, but those little boston terriers are just too precious.

a girl here has one as a service dog that she puts in little homemade dresses and brings to all the bars when she hangs out. way too cute.

i am really really really happy with how that shirt turned out, and with it’s fit. i’m not a “designer” by trade, so i was pleased when i got my samples back and they all fit the way they’re supposed to. yay!!

the more i’m around boston terriers, the more funny i think they are. if they’re well trained, they can be hilarious little guys (but if they aren’t well trained- they suck and are jumpy and yippy and annoying). the All-Mighty girls each have one… Mighty snorts like a pig constantly (which is an amazing riot), and Stinky is bashful and always looks terrified. they crack me up.

1.) alright, still can’t wait for them to be in your store.

2.) Now I want a cupcake, and I think I might tear myself away from the screen long enough to make the trip to the fridge to get one.

3.) I know this is going to sound pervy, but penile art for public eyes?? In the US??? Wow, normally when you see nude thingies in public it’s either a singular or pair of breast. Apparently my husband hasn’t been over-exaggerating about Vegas

4.) Hope you feel better soon!

Hi Kristen! That statue picture sorta reminds me of this one, I took it only a few weeks ago in London…

I’m a bad person when it comes to make up , I hardly ever put on make-up , except maybe red lipstick and tons of black eyeliner , but when you your work is make-up all the sudden it’s like you got x ray vision when it comes to how people look , you can not talk with someone and ignore their face without notice what their face is look like , I find that very annoying.
but I really have to ask , Did you thicken your eyebrows with any kind or form that color come as Kristen????
The red shirt is super-nice , I like the over-chest stripe alot.

jen made some pretty impressive stuff happen with my eyebrows. i have tiny wispy eyebrows that are now kindof crooked even since i bashed my head in and got stitches across one of them. but she made them better.
as far as my non-existent eyelashes go… i don’t think there’s any help for them.

i’m normally a mess with makeup… and i usually just opt for the black eyeliner and red lipstick combo as well (because i don’t know how to do much else, and when i try it looks like a 4 year old got to my face). jen’s teaching me how to make it fun, though. 🙂

You could always put eyelashs , fake ones , you either have them as a whole stripe you glue on or you take single ones with twizzres and can pick on which part of the eye you wanna put some.

I don’t think that a woman should wear make-up just to be accepted in “normal” mainstream society just so she could be included as what-a-woman-should-look-like.

Make-up is fun except the beauty side of it there are alot of tricks you can do …sometimes it’s even creepy.

defintaly ask Jen to teach you as much as she can and as much as you want …but make-up is fun to mess with when you’re bored , well sometimes.

    🙂

i’ve never really felt a “need” to wear makeup. and for the majority of my life, i was a tomboy. it wasn’t until recently that i’ve decided to play “dress-up” and fool around with makeup and things like that. i like how you can completely alter your face just by using different colors on your eyes and lips. it’s like putting on a disguise. i like disguises. maybe my next step will be a mask and cape.
