Babble babble bla bla bla…..

I’m a painter and a clothing designer (first came the painting, then came the clothing). I run my little one-woman empire out of my house with my only employees being my 5 cats who are around for moral support. Due to the fact that I am a mother who never leaves my home because of work (and because of a general sense of irritation caused by interacting with the public), and due to the fact that my husband is usually on the road for his work- I started my typed rantings on myspace. This proved to be very therapeutic for me. I kept ranting even when my husband was in town- this also proved very therapeutic for our marriage.

I like cats. I like Neil Diamond. I like Kansas (the state… not the band… the band sucks). I like my kid… probably a lot more than I like you. I like Ed Asner.  I like Captain Kirk so much that I know in my heart he will be my third husband.  I like chickens (preferably as pets, not as food). I like Hee-Haw. I like my unwavering stance that girls are better than boys on every level. I like all my female partners-in-crime so much that I’d take a bullet for each and every one of them (but I’d prefer for those bullets to not all come at the same time). I like being loud. I like jumping on furniture. I like anything with massive amounts of sugar in it in very very large quantities. I’d like to eat these things with massive amounts of sugar in it for every meal- and I don’t care about my weight. I like painting. I like drawing. I really like the color pink. I like not owning a hairbrush. I like driving my husband insane with my obsessive-compulsive tendencies. I like a clean house… but I don’t like that I’m not very good at keeping a clean house. I’d like for someone to come over and make me dinner every night. Would you do that for me? What if I said please?…. No? Go to hell.

i love this picture, too. i like that your creatures are in your ‘space’ and the look on your face is completely unapologetic, unselfconscious. it’s fierce.

ugh where have you been all my life. i am snowed in on the jersey shore, and with two daughters punished in their rooms for assault, i have had the luxury of coffee+your blog all morning. at the risk of sounding stalkeresque, i am relating to you in many ways from your affinity for criminal minds, to your realization that cupcakes are just better with severed fingers. i am also trying to raise “godless” kids with a husband who is gone nights- (yay for booby traps) dealing with chronic pain, trying to convince doctors and pta ladies and disney world employees that we’re not druggie serial killers…we just look like we are 🙂 i love your writing! love your blog and your art

I love love love knowing that I have mental doppelgangers out there!!! When those sneaking thoughts of “maybe I’m nuts?!” creep into my head, I look to folks like you and remind myself that I’m not… or at least if I am, I’m not the only one- so it’s all ok. Ha!!!
Stay warm, enjoy your little break from your little ladies, and thanks for finding me!!

You have such an awesome imagination. I’m glad I have many artists like you to look up to. Ha, I’ve got some people bringing me down with their boring Plain Jane act being all, “OH! SHE’S A LOON! WITH HER DRAWINGS OF NAKED PEOPLE HAVING THEIR BOSOMS HANGING AND THERE WHATS ITS GOING EVERYWHERE!” Well, hopefully they don’t think we’re all smooth around here and there. I want soooo badly to have the success you have in your work. I just want to be satisfied with my art and just have fun. You give me the “I’M GOING TO HAVE FUN WITH MY INSANITY AND LIKE IT DAMN IT!” kinda push and I feel that I’m not the only far from the middle kinda person. So THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! For being such an awesome artist and person. You’re the kind of inspiration I can look up to. ♥

Oh Celene, thank you so much!!!! And as far as success- I’ve never had ANY expectations with what will happen with my artwork, and I just create because I not only love to create- but I HAVE to create in order to stay happy. So as long as you’re making things that you love and letting that be your #1 goal, you’ll ALWAYS be successful. Don’t listen to the negativity of others, and keep having fun. That’s all that matters. You’re awesome!!!!
